The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Department of Corrections is the jail used by the Atlantic Beach Police Department, and Tammy Morris is the Director. The largest jail for pre-trial inmates is the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility, located in downtown Jacksonville. Chief Joel Carter is the Chief of Jails. This jail can house 2,189 inmates. The first letter of the inmate’s last name determines the visitation day. Visits are limited to a maximum of 2 hours per day.
