The Polk County Detention Center is comprised of two jails, the Central County Jail in Bartow and the South County Jail in Frostproof. Visitation can be done Sunday through Saturday, from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, 12 pm to 4 pm, and 5 pm to 7 pm, through video visitation. Each inmate is allowed two one-hour visits per week. Michael Allen commands the Department of Detention.
