The Department of the Jail is responsible for the operations of the Alachua County Jail. The facility has 1,148 beds and measures 314,000 square feet. The entire jail is under the command of Major J. Cloutier. Inmates are allowed two hours of non-contact visitation per week. All visits must be scheduled 24 hours prior to the desired appointment.
