The Department of Detention and Corrections of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office operates the Pinellas County Jail. The head of the department is Colonel Paul Halle. The jail, which can be found along 49th Street, is the only jail in the county and serves all law enforcement agencies. The average daily population of the facility is 3000 inmates which includes pre-trial and sentenced offenders. Inmate are allowed video visitation. Visits are 40 minutes long and need to be scheduled online or by phone. Visiting hours are as follows:
