The Ocean Ridge Police Department can be found in the Town Hall complex on North Ocean Blvd. The ORPD is headed by Police Chief Hal Hutchins. The department provides several services to the community. It is responsible for patrolling the roadways 24 hours a day, performing property checks, pet registration, and home security checks. The ORPD is also responsible for issuing Open Burn Permits. There are two Lieutenants, four Sergeants, and ten full-time police officers. There are also seven police reserve officers.

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Department of Corrections, which is headed by Major Frank Milo, runs three detention centers. The Main Detention Center is located on Gun Club Road. This facility holds 2166 maximum, medium, and minimum custody adult males as well as juveniles and special population inmates (female and male). The West Detention Center which is in Belle Glade can hold 998 inmates of all custody levels. Visitations are conducted through video only for both facilities. You will need to register an account if you wish to schedule a visit with an inmate.
