The Arkansas City Police Department is staffed during business hours by full-time and part-time personnel working in multiple divisions. These divisions include Administration, Patrol, and Investigations. The Patrol Division provides 24/7 police coverage to all areas in the city. The officers of this division are also responsible for answering calls for service and enforcing traffic laws. The ACPD also has a K-9 Division where the units perform tasks that help other officers in doing their jobs such as tracking scents, conducting area searches, and narcotics detection. The head of the ACPD is Chief of Police Dan Ward.
