The Bel Aire Police Department is comprised of 16 employees and 6 Volunteer Reserve Officers. It has two main divisions which are Patrol and Investigations. The Patrol Division is responsible for conducting 24/7 patrols on all areas within the community. The officers are also responsible for answering calls for service, traffic enforcement, and conducting accident investigations. The Criminal Investigations Division, on the other hand, handles follow-up investigations on misdemeanor and felony cases. Inmates of the Bel Aire Police Department are detained in the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility. Each inmate here is permitted one hour of free on-site visitation per week. Additional visits can be made but will cost the same as remote visitation. All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. The visitation schedule for on-site visits are Monday – Friday from 1 to 5:30 PM and 7 to 9 PM. For remote visits, the schedule is 7 days a week from 9 AM – 10 PM.
