The jail was established in 1914 and the gothic style jail is referred to as the “hanging jail.” The original jail was I operation until 1984 when a new jail was opened on Bolivar Bishop Drive.
The jail has a capacity of 161 beds that houses inmates, pe-trial and a limited amount of adjudicated offenders.
