The detention center has a capacity of 90 and there are 20 deputies employed at the facility. The facility was constructed in 2005.

This is Grant Parish’s only long-term holding facility. It is the parish jail for Grant Parish and for Colfax, Montgomery, Dry Prong, Creola, Georgetown and Pollock. The facility houses inmates arrested by the Louisiana State Police, State Probation and Parole Office, Wildlife and Fisheries, and various federal law enforcement agencies.

Visitation are conducted by a video monitoring system. Visitation room rules: no cell phones, proper attire, no profanity, two visitors, no food or drinks.

Mail can be sent to an inmate via the US Postal Service. Address the envelope to the inmate, include the first and last name and identity number plus the address of the detention center.
