Patrol Division

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is responsible for providing first line law enforcement services to the citizens of Caddo Parish.Patrol Deputies are primarily responsible for the unincorporated areas of Caddo Parish 900+ square miles, but have authority anywhere in the parish.Patrol Deputies are first responders to most calls for service.Highly trained and able to handle most any situation, deputies respond to everything from loose livestock to traffic crashes to homicides.

The Patrol Division is divided into North and South Sectors, with Cross Lake basically as the dividing line.The North Sector command is headquartered at the North Substation in Oil City at Williamson Park.The South Sector command is headquartered at the South Substation in Keithville on Mansfield Road.The Patrol Division Commander and staff are headquartered at the Sheriff’s Substation on North Market Street. Each of these is a full-service substation.

Civil Division

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Civil Division consists of sheriff’s deputies whose primary responsibility is service of process. The Civil Division’s duties include processing of civil and criminal papers, (from other parishes as well as other states); the Civil Division duties also include sheriff’s foreclosure sales, garnishing wages and enforcing court orders on protective orders and child custody orders. All papers coming into the Sheriff’s Office from the courts is processed through the Civil Division and service is carried out by a Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the Civil Division. It is the responsibility of the Civil Division to maintain accurate records of service and attempted service, returns of service to the courts, billing for fees for service and maintain good communications and correspondences between the agency and those agencies requiring our civil service.

Criminal Investigations Division

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Division includes the Persons and Property Unit, Youth Services and the Caddo Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force. Sheriff’s detectives conduct investigations throughout Caddo Parish, and on occasion, in the City of Shreveport.

The eight detectives assigned to the Persons and Property Unit investigate a wide variety of crimes including homicides, sexual assaults, robbery, burglary, and theft. Detectives are assigned to the north and south sectors of Caddo Parish.

Communications Division

The Communication Division is located within the Caddo 9-1-1 Center at 1144 Texas. This division is responsible for processing all emergency and non-emergency requests for service received by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.

This Division operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and has 24 full-time and 4 part-time positions. The APCO Institute has certified each Communication Deputy in Public Safety Telecommunications and Emergency Medical Dispatch.

K-9 Division

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit has four dual purpose canines assigned to the Patrol Division and one narcotics canine assigned to the Caddo Correctional Center. Patrol canines support uniformed patrol deputies by assisting on calls and conducting building, vehicle, and area searches for suspects and contraband. They also conduct regular operations to decrease drug trafficking by detection, seizure, and arrest of suspects. The sole job of our narcotics canine is to locate narcotics and other contraband within the jail facility and provide a safer environment for inmates and staff.
