Police Records Request in Ann Arbor, Michigan

The records division is responsible for recording and storing case files. They maintain all incident and crash reports generated by the police department. Records assists the public by locating incident/accident reports, researching past incidents, and directing them to other agencies as needed. Incident reports are retrieved and made available upon request to the public through the Freedom of Information Act (PDF). The records division also handles registering sex offenders.

The following reports can be made online (all other non emergency reports can be reported to the police front desk at 734.794.6920):

In most cases, these reports will not be investigated. The report simply documents that you reported an incident to the Ann Arbor Police Department. Once the report is reviewed and approved, you will be provided an incident report number.
