Inmates are held at the Buchanan County Jail, which is located on St. Joseph on the property with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office. The jail can house 224 inmates. Visitation with inmates is on Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 5 pm. Visitation appointments must be made in advance. Each inmate is allowed one 20-minute visitors per visitation day.
