The Pitt County Detention Center is the jail used by the Ayden Police Department to house its pre-trial inmates. This 596-bed facility houses male and female inmates (federal, state, and county) who are awaiting trial or who have been sentenced to short periods of incarceration. Each inmate is granted the privilege of visitation. Those with last names starting with A through J have visiting hours on Saturday from 1pm to 3:40pm. Those with last names starting with K through Z have visiting hours on Sunday from 1pm to 3:40pm. The inmate provides a list of approved visitors. All visits are limited to 20 minutes.
