The Pitt County Detention Center houses the pretrial inmates of the Bethel Police Department. The facility is capable of holding 596 male and female inmates (federal, state, and county) who are awaiting trial or who have been sentenced to short periods of incarceration. All inmates are allowed visitation. Those with last names starting with A through J have visiting hours on Saturday from 1pm to 3:40pm. Those with last names starting with K through Z have visiting hours on Sunday from 1pm to 3:40pm. All visitors must be on the approved list provided by the inmate. All visits are limited to 20 minutes.
