The New Hanover County Detention Facility is the jail used by the Carolina Beach Police Department to house its pre-trial inmates. The jail, which can be found along Juvenile Center Road, is run by the Detention Division of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office. The daily average inmate population in the jail is 569. Each inmate is permitted a 45-minute visit twice a week, up to 2 adult guests per visit. All visits must be scheduled ahead of time by the inmate. Visitation hours are from 1pm to 9pm daily.
