The Catawba County Detention Facility is located within the Catawba County Government Campus which is in Newton. It is the jail used by the Conover Police Department to house their inmates. All inmates at this facility are allowed one (1) fifteen-minute visit per week. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Visitation hours are Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Friday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 11:00 am and 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Sunday 9:00 am – 11:00 am, and 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
