The Catawba County Detention Facility is located within the Catawba County Government Campus which is in Newton. It is the jail used by the Long View Police Department for its pre-trial inmates. All inmates are permitted one (1) fifteen-minute visit per week. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Visitation hours are Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Friday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 11:00 am and 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Sunday 9:00 am – 11:00 am, and 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
