The Carteret County Detention Center (CCDC) is the only jail facility in the county and is used by the Newport Police Department to house its inmates. The average daily population of the jail is 128 inmates. All inmates are allowed 1 visit per week on their assigned day. Each visit is 10 to 20 minutes in length. Visiting days are Monday through Thursday from 2pm to 3pm. The visitation schedule is as follows:
