The Wake County Jail is used by the Wake Forest Police Department to house its inmates. The jail is run by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office through its Detention Division. The main jail is located at 3301 Hammond Road. A second facility, John H. Baker, Jr. Public Safety Center, which is located at 330 S. Salisbury Street. The total capacity of the two facilities is 1,568. All visitations for inmates at these two facilities are conducted by video only at the main facility. Visiting hours are from 9am to 1:30pm and 4 to 6:30pm. Visitation days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
