The Wake County Jail is the jail used by the Wendell Police Department to house its pre-trial inmates. The jail is run by the Detention Division of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. You’ll find the main jail at 3301 Hammond Road. The second facility, John H. Baker, Jr. Public Safety Center, can be found at 330 S. Salisbury Street. The two facilities has the capacity to hold 1,568 inmates. All visitations for inmates at these two facilities are conducted by video only at the main facility. Visiting hours are from 9am to 1:30pm and 4 to 6:30pm. Visitation days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
