The New Hanover County Detention Facility houses the pretrial inmates of the Wrightsville Beach Police Department. The facility, which can be found on Juvenile Center Road, is run by the Detention Division of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office. The daily average inmate population of the jail is 569. Inmates are permitted a 45-minute visit twice a week with a maximum of 2 adult guests per visit. All visits must be scheduled ahead of time by the inmate. Visitation hours are from 1pm to 9pm daily.
