The Whitehall Division of Police provides 24-hour service and is an integral part of developing and maintaining a safe and secure community through the cooperative efforts of many departments and community organizations.

The division proudly provides a wide range of police services and programs to residents, visitors and members of the business community. The division is staffed by sworn officers who are professionally trained and certified by the State of Ohio; and, by law, are also declared to be law enforcement officers of the State and conservators of peace with the authority to arrest. The Whitehall Division of Police maintains a dispatching center that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with highly qualified and well trained dispatchers. As a public safety answering point (PSAP) our communications experts answer 9-1-1 calls for police, fire, and emergency medical assistance. Our dispatchers also answer regular line calls and dispatch patrol officers along with handling a multitude of other responsibilities. Detective Bureau

The Detective Bureau is responsible for investigations on every felony committed in Whitehall and some misdemeanor crimes. The Whitehall Division of Police handles about 1,500 felony investigations per year along with undercover and intelligence operations.

The Whitehall Division of Police Operations Bureau is made up of one commander and six sergeants who oversee a total of 25 patrol officers. The Operations Bureau is responsible for the safety of residents, business, and people traveling through Whitehall 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round. FCCC1 is also known as the Main Jail. This facility houses only male inmates and has a bed capacity of 643. FCCC2 houses both male and female inmates and has a capacity of 1675.

The combined staffing for the correction facilities consists of one (1) Chief Deputy, two (2) Majors, one (1) Captain, six (6) Lieutenants, twenty-seven (27) Sergeants, and 315 Deputies. The primary responsibility of the uniform staff is to maintain the safety and security for all incarcerated in our facilities with care, custody, and control

The vision of the Corrections Division is to assist those incarcerated in our facilities by providing various programs, including the ability to participate in community crews such as the Road Crew and Animal Shelter Crew, to help reduce recidivism and guide those incarcerated to become productive citizens upon release.
