The Aurora City Police Department is a very small, part-time law enforcement agency that is staffed by Police Chief Matt McLean. He is responsible for ensuring the safety of the community as well as the safety of travelers passing through the city. In addition, he is responsible for answering all calls for service from the community.

The Sevier County Jail houses the inmates of the Aurora City Police Department. The main jail has a maximum capacity of 214 inmates while the Annex has a capacity of 356. Inmates at these facilities are allowed one hour of visitation per week. An inmate’s visitation schedule is assigned by bunk for specific days and times. The visitation hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at the Main Facility and 8am to 6pm at the Annex Facility.
