The Cottonwood Heights Police Department is comprised of several divisions including Fleet, Investigations, SWAT, Administration, and Reserves. The Administration Division is responsible for overseeing the operations of all divisions within the department. The Investigations Division, on the other hand, conducts follow-up investigations on all reported incidents that cannot be handled by patrol officers. The CHPD is headed by Chief of Police E. There are two correctional facilities in Salt Lake County that can house the inmates of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department – the Salt Lake County Metro Jail and the Oxbow Jail Facility.
