Manti City contracts with the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Department for law enforcement services. The SCSO is comprised of several divisions and units. It has a Patrol Division which is responsible for conducting routine patrols in all areas within the jurisdiction of the Sheriff’s Office. The officers are also primarily responsible for traffic enforcement and responding to calls for service. The Jail Division, on the other hand, is responsible for the safety and security of all inmates detained in the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Complex. The head of the SCSO is Sheriff Brian Nielson.
