The Ogden City Police Department is comprised of 143 sworn police officers, and 80 non-sworn and volunteer professionals. The department is divided into several divisions and units including Community Policing, Gang Unit, Investigations, K-9, and Patrol. The Community Policing Program divides the city into eight Community Policing areas, each with a Community Policing (CP) officer assigned. These officers are responsible for working with the citizens to identify and solve problems within the community. The Investigations Division is comprised of several units such as the Major Crimes Bureau, Special Victims Unit, and School Resource Officers. Generally, this division is responsible for responding to crime scenes and conducting follow-up investigations. The OCPD is headed by Chief of Police Steven R. Watt.
