Orem, Utah Police Station Information
The Orem Police Department is comprised of 82 sworn police officers, 41 civilian employees, and 20 citizen volunteers. The OPD has three divisions – Patrol, Investigations, and Support Services. The Patrol Division is the most visible part of the OPD. The officers in this division are responsible for patrolling various areas within city limits 24/7. They are also responsible for responding to emergency calls, enforcing traffic laws, and investigating traffic accidents. The Investigations Division is responsible for handling investigations of crimes that are more serious in nature. The head of the OPD is Chief of Police Gary Giles.

The Utah County Jail is where inmates of the Orem Police Department are held. Te facility can hold approximately 800 prisoners. Inmates are granted two free 25-minute visits each week at the jail. Free on-site visits are held Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am-11:00 am, 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, except on holidays. All schedules must be scheduled 24 hours in advance of the visit through the Securus website or by using the Securus kiosk located in the visitor waiting room.
