The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Detention Department has two jails serving the area, including the city of Lakeland. This department is under the command of Chief Mike Allen. The Central County Jail in Bartow and the South County Jail in Frostproof both follow the same visitation rules. Each inmate is allowed 2 visits per week – 1 hour each day – using the Securus video visitation system. Visitation is held from Sunday through Saturday during the following hours:
