The Bradford County Jail was built in 1995 and houses both male and female inmates in different sections. The current classification levels are Maximum, Medium, and Minimum.

- Dress Code for Visitors: NO See-through clothing, halter tops, sleeveless tops, midriff or cleavage exposing tops, skirts or dresses that have slits above the knees or do not cover your knees, inappropriate language on clothes, swimsuits, hats or other items covering the head, sunglasses, watches, or other items of value. (Any exception to the above stated rules must be approved by a Visitation member prior to the visit commencing). All visits are no contact only.

Code Enforcement
In August 2011, the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office created the Code Enforcement Division at the request of the Bradford County Board of County Commissioners. Two staff members comprise this unit and are responsible for enforcement of County Codes relating to abandoned/junked vehicles, uncultivated vegetation, trash, debris and other objectionable or unsanitary matter. With an effective code enforcement program, the Sheriff’s Office promotes, protects and improves the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Bradford County.
Investigations
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responsibilities include investigating various types of crimes such as sexual assault, child abuse, homicides, armed robbery, burglary and other types of crimes. Investigators are assigned cases using a system based on solvability factors. Investigators from specialized units are assigned to investigate crimes on the basis of expertise. CID works closely with other outside agencies such as the Medical Examiner’s Office, Department of Children and Families, Child Protection Team, the FBI, DEA and Victim Advocates. Members of the Investigations Division work together in order to achieve a common goal. We often rely on help from citizens in solving crime. By working together with the community, we can make a positive difference and create a safer environment for all of us to live in.
Narcotics Task Force
The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force’s main function is to combat illegal drug activity within Bradford County. The Task Force serves to identify, investigate, arrest, and aid in the prosecution of individuals to help minimize the effects of drug abuse in Bradford County. We believe that drug abuse affects all areas of the quality of life, including: the economy, our communities, our family and our health. As a specialized unit, the Task Force arrests individuals for offenses ranging from street level drug possession, all the way up to major drug trafficking. The Task Force serves drug related search warrants in Bradford County, and works side by side with the Special Response Team to take down some of the most dangerous criminals in Bradford County.
Patrol
The Patrol Division of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office is comprised of four (4) shifts and a two (2) person split shift to provide county-wide patrol coverage for the citizens of Bradford County. The Patrol Division operates under the direction and supervision of the Patrol Commander. Patrol provides coverage and emergency response by designation of “patrol zones” which identify specific geographical areas of responsibility. Creation of designated zones and assignment of personnel to specific areas reduces emergency response time by decreasing required travel distances.
Court Services
As executive officer of the Court, it is the Sheriff’s duty to carry out all the lawful orders of the Court as well as other duties as required by law. Among those duties, the Sheriff is required to attend either in person or by deputy all terms of the Circuit Court and County Court, and serve and execute “process” of the Supreme Court, the Circuit Court, the County Court, and the Board of County Commissioners. It is the Court Services Division that carries out these legally mandated services. Court Security Deputies are responsible for the physical protection of judges, court personnel, attorneys, witnesses, juries and citizens who have business within the Bradford County Courthouse. Deputies are assigned to work with a specific judge and are responsible for opening court and managing the courtroom.
