The Department of Detention and Corrections of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office runs the Pinellas County Jail. Colonel Paul Halle heads the department and oversees the running of the facility. The jail, which can be found along 49th Street, is the only one in the county and serves all law enforcement agencies. The average daily population of the county jail is 3000 inmates which includes pre-trial and sentenced offenders. Inmate are allowed video visitation. Visits are 40 minutes in length and need to be scheduled online or by phone. Visiting hours are as follows:
