Law Enforcement

Communications

The Communications Division consists of over 180 employees, four independent dispatch/call centers, handling well over one million phone calls annually. Our Communications centers are Headquarters in West Palm Beach, the Courthouse Command Center, Belle Glade – District 5, and the Palm Beach International Airport. Communications support functions include Teletype, Validations, and CAD/GIS. We provide comprehensive law enforcement support services including 9-1-1 and dispatch services to unincorporated Palm Beach County and several contracted municipalities.Court Services Division Captain Edward Jablonski is the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Commanding Officer of the Court Services Division which consists of the Courthouse Security Unit, Courtroom Security Unit, and Court Liaison Unit. We also serve as the Contract Administrator of Security Services (CAOSS), managing all private security screening. Court Services is one of the largest law enforcement divisions at PBSO with 133 personnel. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for everyone who visits or does business on our (5) campuses throughout the county.

Training Division

The Training Division has a multitude of responsibilities and is committed to providing the best training possible to the 4,000+ employees of the Sheriff’s Office. Classroom and practical training is administered through In-Service classes, along with additional internal and external specialty classes offered to all Sworn Law Enforcement, Corrections personnel and civilian employees as well. Our employees are committed to protecting and serving the community and upholding our guiding principles of Professionalism, Respect, Integrity and Fairness.
PBSO has training facilities located throughout Palm Beach County; our main office is on Cherry Road in West Palm Beach. In addition, the Training Division maintains a Driving Facility, Firearms Range, 2 Armories and 11 Fitness Centers. The division is comprised of 49 personnel that utilize and oversee these facilities. A breakdown of our personnel is as follows: 1 Captain, 3 Lieutenants, 7 Sergeants, 1 Office Support Supervisor, 21 Sworn Trainers, 3 Civilian Trainers, 3 Fitness Trainers, and 10 Support Staff. The division also oversees the Field Training Office (FTO), which provides training for new recruits. In addition, the division also supports the Bicycle Unit which is run by a civilian manager who coordinates over 350 bicycle deputies, making it the second largest bicycle unit in the nation.

Warrants Division

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division is responsible for processing, storing and executing all arrest warrants issued in Palm Beach County by the courts. Our staff of 14 warrant specialists and 2 warrant supervisors process and enter all arrest warrant information into our local database and assure that all information is entered into the proper state and national databases so they are accessible to all law enforcement agencies throughout the country. At any given time the Sheriff’s Office is responsible for maintaining approximately 45,000 arrest warrants.

Narcotics Division

The Narcotics Division primarily focuses on enforcing state and federal controlled substance laws and regulations. We are dedicated to aggressively investigating and holding those individuals/organizations accountable that grow, manufacture, and/or distribute controlled substances. We are dedicated to working together with federal, state, and other local law enforcement agencies to effectively accomplish our mission.

The Narcotics Division is also home to the Public Assistance Fraud Task Force. This Task Force investigates the multiple types of fraud involving public assistance. The Task Force is made up of local, state, and federal agencies that diligently enforce laws aimed at stopping those who choose to intentionally abuse our public assistance programs through fraudulent means.
