The Sandy City Police Department is comprised of 113 sworn officers and 36 civilian employees. It has three divisions – Patrol, Investigations, and the Administrative Division. The Patrol Division is responsible for providing 24/7 police coverage to all areas within the city. The officers are also tasked with responding to calls for service, traffic enforcement, and traffic investigation. The Investigations Division consists of detectives who handle follow-up investigations of reported incidents involving major crimes. The head of the SCPD is Chief of Police William O’Neal.
