The Hancock County Public Safety Complex (HCPSC) opened in March, 2012 which is home to the Hancock County Justice Court, Mississippi Department of Parole and Probation, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and its Adult Sheriff. The Hancock County Adult Sheriff (HCADC) has the capability to house three hundred and three (303) inmates. The HCADC staff consist of Warden Brandon Zeringue; Deputy Warden Amanda Parker; Lieutenant Andrew Johnson; four ( 4) Administrative Assistants; thirty-three (33) Corrections Officers; one (1) Maintenance Director and one (1 ) Kitchen Manager. Supplementing the staff are two (2) Program Facilitators oversee eighty (80) inmates participating in the Mississippi Department of Corrections Long Term Alcohol and Drug Program. Inmate religious programs are directed by the Good News Jail/Prison Ministries and Chaplin Joe Collins.
Inmate programs include General Educational Development (GED) studies and testing; life skills training, Alcoholics Anonymous, Substance Abuse Recovery, literacy and Bible study courses. Every inmate is allowed to participate in any program as long as long as the inmate conforms to HCADC policy. An Inmate Worker Program is in place giving qualified inmates theopportunity to shorten their sentences by working as kitchen workers, automobile mechanics, sanitation workers as well as the opportunity to participate in the Hancock County Road Crew Program.

Patrol Division
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division provides 24 hours a day/7 days a week patrols for the citizens of Hancock County. Patrol deputies are responsible for responding to all complaint calls which may include vehicle accidents, reports of crime or criminal activity, domestic violence, missing persons, suspicious activities and any calls for assistance from citizens. The patrol deputy gathers the preliminary information which is subsequently provided to criminal investigators and/or narcotics agents to enhance the supplementary follow-up criminal investigations. All patrol deputies are uniformed and operate fully marked Sheriff’s Office vehicles.
Criminal Investigation Division
Commander Glenn Grannan began his career in law enforcement when he joined the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) in 1975. He was selected to receive specialized training and became an undercover agent as member of the JPSO Narcotics Division. Grannan spent the next two and half years in the Narcotics Division working undercover. As a result of his work, he received two (2) Distinguished Service Awards and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Outstanding Contribution Award for 1977. Grannan remains recognized today as one of the most successful agents to work undercover narcotics operations in the Metropolitan New Orleans area. Grannan spent the next two years serving as a patrol deputy with the JPSO Uniform Patrol Division.
Narcotics Division
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division is comprised of a Commander and a number of narcotics agents who are specifically trained in detection, investigation and prosecution of crimes involving illegal narcotics. The primary goal of our Narcotics Division is to identify, disrupt and arrest persons who manufacture, smuggle, distribute and/or assist in the distribution of illegal drugs, resulting in the violator’s criminal prosecution. There are many specialized tactics and resources our Narcotics Division uses on a daily basis to accomplish its goals which include reactive criminal investigations and proactive narcotics operations against drug law violators.
Training Division
Captain Todd Drummond has devoted his entire law enforcement career with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). Drummond began his law enforcement career as a Reserve Deputy eighteen (18) years ago working his way through the ranks to his present position as Captain over Minimum Standards & Training. Drummond is the HCSO Academy Director which is comprised of twenty (20) weeks training required for Reserve & Refresher Law Enforcement personnel covering a variety of required topics in its curriculum. In addition, Drummond coordinates the HCSO Field Training Program which requires new HCSO law enforcement personal to be mentored for six (6) months.
Reserve Division
The Hancock Sheriff Reserve Deputy Division is comprised of our community members who volunteer their time to fulfill many of the roles handled by full-time sworn Deputies. Reserve Deputies work alongside the full-time deputies in every aspect of day to day operations.
