Located at 215 Justice Street, the Lincoln County jail hosts an average population of 75 people per day. With jail security being a top priority for the Sheriff’s Office, all correctional officers are required to complete a state certified curriculum.

The Lincoln County Jail includes areas for both male and female inmates. Juveniles are housed in a separate facility. Religious services are available for all inmates through various programs. Any drug, alcohol or anger management meetings or counsellings are generally court ordered. Daily operations of the jail involve our inmates taking on the jobs of assisting food service personnel, cleaning, washing and detailing deputies’ vehicles as well as working litter detail.

The jail employs a nurse who visits the jail 3 times a week and is on call 24/7. Before any inmate receives or takes any medication, the nurse or doctor must approve it before being administered. If an inmate is on medication, a family member must bring the medication that the inmate is currently on in its original bottle. Any medication that is out of date will not be passed along to inmates, but rather thrown away.

  • Visitation for female inmates is on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
  • For state male inmates, visitation is Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
  • For county or city male inmates, visitation is Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
  • All visitors MUST HAVE a picture I.D. in order to see their family members.
  • No cell phones, cameras or purses are allowed when visiting an inmate.
  • Children are not to be left unattended in the jail lobby.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office currently has two drug trained dogs in the department. Lt. Matt Springfield has one dog, and is assigned to the Patrol Division. Deputy/Agent Keith Dickerson has the second drug trained dog and works local Narcotics.
