The Sheriff is elected at-large and serves a four-year term. The Sheriff’s law enforcement duties include keeping peace within the county. Administrative duties include serving as the county’s jailer, submitting a budget of the operation of his office to the Board of Supervisors, keeping Mississippi Department Reports, and keeping a jail docket.

The Neshoba County Law Enforcement Center was opened in January 1995. It’s construction was completed in less than seven (7) months at a cost to the citizens of Neshoba County of 1.8 million dollars. The building was one of the first to use factory-assembled detention facilities. This system is based on an innovative design of welded steel units that are factory-assembled and fully outfitted for detention cell, dormitories, day rooms, etc. The Neshoba County Law Enforcement Center contains over 15,000 square feet of space. It’s design includes 52-bed maximum security beds, 12-beds for work crew members. The building also houses the administrative offices for the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department including the Sheriff, Investigators and Deputies.
