The mission of the Lee County-Tupelo Juvenile Center is to provide leadership for change for youth, family units, and communities. Accountability is a vital component and each juvenile will be provided with legitimate, alternative pathways to adulthood with equal access. Public safety is a principal concern in all their practices and policies as well as the safety and welfare of each juvenile in their care. They will operate with professionalism, competence, and integrity and will treat all people in a fair, consistent, and honest manner in the performance of our duties.

Criminal Investigative Division
This division is responsible for all felony crimes. These Investigators all have specialized training so that they can assist the members of the community when a crime has occurred. The division is comprised of investigators who work all the felony cases such as homicides, home invasions, kidnapping, grand larceny, bomb threats, felony child abuse, rapes/sexual assaults, fires, cyber crimes and any others that come into their office.
The Narcotics Division is comprised of 5 counties throughout North Mississippi. Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, DEA and National Guard are support groups of this Unit. This unit is responsible for all Narcotics arrests in Lee County, including all municipalities. This unit is comprised of 26 agents with military support, full-time attorneys and a lab to combat the drug problem in Lee County.
Youth Services Division
The Youth Services Division of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department reaches out to the Youth of the community in the hope to offer guidance to help influence the decisions they make in life. This division is comprised of five officers and houses all our School Resource Officers, DARE, school programs, Interns, Job Shadows, and other youth events/functions within the community.
Animal Control Division
The animal control position for the Lee County Sheriff Department is a sworn position held by a deputy who is a full-time certified law enforcement officer. The deputy answers complaints from citizens who want to file a report regarding animal-related crimes.
This division enforces the laws of the county and state. Items that are investigated are: animal bites; dangerous dogs; neglected, abused, diseased, and injured dogs. Horse complaints are also common. If horses (or other animals) are confined without proper food and water, that is a violation of state law which is punishable by fines and/or incarceration.
