The Riverdale City Police Department is comprised of 19 sworn officers and 3 civilian staff members. There are several divisions and units within the RCPD such as Animal Control, Patrol, and Investigations. The Patrol Division is responsible for conducting routine patrols 24/7 in all areas within city limits. The officers are also responsible for enforcing traffic laws, investigating accidents, and answering calls for service. The Investigations Division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations of all reported incidents that involve major crimes. The RCPD is headed by Chief of Police Scott Brenkman.
