Riverton, Utah Police Station Information

Riverton City is under the jurisdiction of the Unified Police Department up until June 30, 2019. On July 1st, the newly transformed Riverton Police Department headed by Chief of Police Don Hutson will be taking over in providing law enforcement services to the city.

The UPD currently has a precinct in the city of Riverton, operating out of the Sandra N. Lloyd Community Center where the newly formed Riverton PD will also be housed. Currently, the precinct has 31 full-time employees. It provides several services and programs to the community including Neighborhood Watch, Lady Beware, Bicycle Safety& Rodeos, Citizen Police Academies, Stranger Danger, Internet Safety, Workplace Safety, and Business Alliances. The acting chief of the Riverton Precinct is Jason Adamson.

The Unified Police Department houses their inmates at the Salt Lake County Metro Jail and the Oxbow Jail Facility. Inmates at these facilities are granted two visits per week, one visit per visiting day. Each visit is 30 minutes long. An inmate’s visitation schedule is dependent on his housing unit.
