The Catawba County Detention Facility can be found on the Catawba County Government Campus which is in Newton. It is the facility used by the Hickory Police Department for their inmates. All inmates at this facility are allowed one (1) fifteen-minute visit per week. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Visitation hours are Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Friday 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 11:00 am and 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Sunday 9:00 am – 11:00 am, and 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
