The town contracts with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement services. The BCSO is headed by Sheriff John W. Ingram, V. There are several divisions and units within the BCSO which include the Criminal Investigative Unit, Vice Narcotics Unit, and Uniform Services. The Criminal Investigative Unit is responsible for investigating property crimes, assaults, homicides, sex crimes, fraud cases, etc. The Vice Narcotics Unit, on the other hand, is responsible for investigating and detecting narcotic violations, illegal alcohol sales, gambling, and other illegal vices.

The Brunswick County Detention Center is a 444-bed capacity jail. Inmates at this facility are allowed visitation through non-contact video visits. Remote visits are available through the Securus Video Visit app. Inmates can also get one visit per week onsite. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Onsite visitation times are Sunday through Monday. Appointments start at 9am and end at 7:35pm.
