The Patrol Division, on the other hand, provides patrol coverage to all areas in the city which is divided into 3 districts.

The Wake County Detention Center is the facility used by the Apex Police Department. The jail is located along Hammond Road in Raleigh and run by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. A second facility, John H. Baker, Jr. Public Safety Center,can be found at 330 S. Salisbury Street. The total capacity of the two facilities is 1,568. All visitations for inmates at these two facilities are conducted by video only at the main facility. Visiting hours are from 9am to 1:30pm and 4 to 6:30pm. Visitation days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
