The town of Micanopy contracts the the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for police services. The Sheriff’s Office is located on SE Hawthorne Road in Gainesville. The ACSO is headed by Sheriff Sadie Darnell. There are several departments within th ACSO – the Department of Operations, the Department of Support Services, and the Department of the Jail.
