The Wake County Jail is the jail used by the Garner Police Department for its inmates. It is run by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office through the Detention Division. The main jail can be found at 3301 Hammond Road. A second facility, John H. Baker, Jr. Public Safety Center, which can be found at 330 S. Salisbury Street. The two facilities have a total holding capacity of 1,568. All visitations for inmates at these two facilities are conducted by video only at the main facility. Visiting hours are from 9am to 1:30pm and 4 to 6:30pm. Visitation days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
