The Administrative Division is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the entire department. The Patrol Division is responsible for answering all calls for service. The Investigations Division handles all criminal investigations of various offenses including narcotics, robberies, sexual assaults, and missing persons.

The Orange County Detention Center is the facility used by the Hillsborough Police Department. It is headed by Major Randy Hawkins of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The jail has a total bed capacity of 129 inmates. Inmates are permitted to visit with family and friends on a weekly basis. All visitors must be on the visitation list provided by the inmate. Visitation for federal inmates are on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. Visitation for all other inmates are on Saturdays from 12pm to 4pm. Visitation is limited to 15 minutes per inmate.
